Jesus Saved Me from Homosexuality

When a person stands in front of a congregation and proclaims,
God saved me from homosexuality!
The congregation assumes that the person no longer has any same-sex attractions, has been transformed, the old is gone behold all things have been made new.

But what the person is almost always really saying is,
I no longer identify as gay or engage in same-gender sexual activities, and if I do, I immediately repent and get back on that ex-gay pony
And in order for us to survive in our anti-gay churches, we had to resort to this sort of deception.

Lies! Lies! Lies!

Why exactly are they satisfied with being told a lie? If anyone, even during my 'no gay people!' days told me that, I'd be seriously annoyed. Why does that quench them? Why do they 'settle for less' than change if what they really want is unreachable?

Because they know, deep in their hearts, that change is impossible. But they live in a state of fear that they then press onto other people. How sad.

God, speak to them.

I think "riding the ex-gay pony" is my favorite phrase ever (until I find a new one, anyway).
